How happy I am to be able to say that I am a living witness to Truth! Because I have been blessed with instruction in Christian Science, I have been redeemed from illness, lack, discontent, and many other conditions of despair.

When I was very young I had quick healings of so-called children's diseases, and at one time was healed of a severe head cold in just thirty minutes when my mother worked for me as we are taught in Christian Science. Later, during the last World War, I was saved from what appeared to be certain passing on during the so-called influenza epidemic. One night I awoke so ill it seemed I should lose my breath any minute. My mother read to me from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and I found my relief and freedom in a few minutes.

In my teens I became subject to periodic attacks of pain. So severe did these attacks become I felt I could not endure another. I was forced to start work in Christian Science for myself instead of relying on my mother's work, and this was the turning point for me. I went to see a practitioner for guidance and help, and at last the healing began to take place. This was not a quick healing, but one in which many faults of character were overcome along with the healing of many minor physical ailments. During this period of faithful work I was healed of an attack of poor eyesight. It was pointed out to me that true vision is spiritual, not material. When I began to see my fellow man as God sees him, in the light of perfection, I discovered I was healed.

Several years ago I had very definite proof of the power of God to heal when I was taken with trench mouth. For three days and three nights there was no apparent change in my condition, but the consecrated work of a faithful practitioner went on. Thinking the trouble was of a contagious nature, we called in a doctor for a diagnosis, because the state regulations require reports of such cases. It seemed necessary for the physician to take two cultures for a clear report. By the time the report on the second culture came through it was at the end of the third day of Christian Science treatment, and I began to recover very rapidly. The doctor expressed great astonishment at seeing such a serious condition change so suddenly for the better. In a few hours I was up, and two days later took a two-hundred-mile trip by myself. There was no period of recuperation and no relapse.

Is it any wonder I am grateful today? All I have and all I am I owe to my understanding of Christian Science, and I know that any sincere seeker after the healing truth can find it in this religion.— (Mrs.) Priscilla Morison Stenberg, Brookline, Massachusetts.
