The Equity of Divine Love

Christian Science opens up a new universe to men, a universe undreamed of by material sense, where nought but perfection is to be found, nought but holiness, harmony, happiness, and peace. It is making this plain to all who study its teaching, to all who through its teaching learn the truth about God, the great First Cause, of whom it is written in the book of Job (37:23), "Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict." In real being equity reigns.

Christian Science reveals God as infinite Spirit, infinite Life, Truth, and Love, perfect Mind. And since He is infinite, the Supreme Being exists without an opposite: nothing unlike Him has any reality. There is no imperfection, no evil, in God; therefore evil is unreal. His—Mind's—universe, which is the universe of ideas, is the only real universe; and it is altogether spiritual and perfect. The so-called material universe does not, therefore, really exist; it is but a false or erroneous concept of being. Christian Science makes known these great truths, thereby refuting the testimony of material sense; and in doing so it allows us to enter understandingly the realm of the real, the realm of Spirit—the kingdom of God.

Through the knowledge of God which Christian Science gives, we apprehend the fact that in real being there is universal harmony, universal equity. All of Mind's ideas are perfectly governed by perfect spiritual law. Man, therefore, is in the perpetual enjoyment of absolute good, absolute harmony; and the same is true of all God's ideas. "Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne," says the Psalmist, "mercy and truth shall go before thy face" (Psalms 89:14). How wonderful, that through an understanding of divine Science we can clearly behold what the material eye cannot envision, the universe of perfect Mind!
