I was led to seek healing in Christian Science for a little child, and great gratitude impels me to write this testimony. Coming to America with my husband in 1919 from the Scottish highlands, I yearned for friends left behind and for my highland home. A little girl was born to us, but when one year old she was unable to digest her food, her stomach being abnormally large. I consulted two physicians, who stated she could live only a few weeks, as an X-ray picture showed a bowel obstruction. My friends urged me to try Christian Science, but not yet having learned "the way," I put the baby into a children's hospital. Two weeks elapsed, and I then realized that only God could heal her.

Here I may say I had always been taught to love the Bible and to trust God in time of need. A loving Christian Science practitioner took the baby into her home. Then the testing time came. The healing was slow. Sometimes she was very near "the valley of the shadow," but I was learning "to trace thy footsteps, Son of God!" She is now a healthy, happy girl of eleven, superior in her school grades. I was also healed of homesickness.

With a song of gratitude I cast my "bread upon the waters," trusting Truth that it may help another mother to find peace and healing through Christian Science.
