The Lectures

Hannover, Germany (Second Church).—Introducing A. Hervey-Bathurst, a Christian Science lecturer, to his audience, Hans Struss made the following remarks:—

A review of the Scriptures shows us that the search for Truth and an understanding of the highest good has always animated mankind. To-day men are striving more than ever before for deliverance from the bondage of sin, sickness, and suffering. Christ Jesus once said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." This prophecy is being fulfilled to-day. The truth about God, man, and the universe has again been given to mankind through Christian Science. The Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, says in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 174): "Truth is revealed. It needs only to be practised." That Christian Science is the truth which frees mankind from all evil, physical and moral, has been proved to a waiting world in thousands of instances during the more than fifty years which have elapsed since its discovery; and this proof is gaining in surety daily. The great truth which it presents was demonstrated throughout the entire earthly career of Christ Jesus. It is the mission of Christian Science to make this healing truth comprehensive to all mankind, and to deliver them from evil of every sort.

Chicago, Ill. (Fifteenth Church).—The following prefatory remarks were made by Miss Jeannette Tidball, at a Christian Science lecture by Frank Bell:—
