In gratitude for my remarkable cure through Christian Science, and with the hope that this may help some one else to find the truth, I desire to give this testimony. For years I had been considered delicate. I was unable to walk any distance or lift any weight without suffering terribly afterwards. I did not dare to eat many things, was extremely nervous, and almost constantly suffering from rheumatism and neuralgia. These troubles finally culminated in lockjaw and a very badly diseased condition of the bone of one jaw, supposed to have been caused by my trying to have a tooth extracted.

For eight months I tried everything known to the medical world. besides osteopathy, magnetic healing, etc. I was in two hospitals and in the hands of the most efficient surgeons of the West, had four operations, and finally the head surgeon of the hospital where I had been for over two months, told me there was one chance of a little live bone remaining, and since I might as well be dead as to lose my jaw, I must wait perhaps months and hope for the best. For a week I steadily grew worse, and I made up my mind never to submit to another operation until I had tried Christian Science.

When I began treatment I could scarcely walk two blocks without resting, but in two weeks I walked four miles, and although I was thoroughly drenched by a sudden rain, I was not tired and never had an ache or pain follow the exposure. I ate anything I desired, and within a month was at home taking charge of my children and the work.

I was the first one here to step out of the medical path and to take a stand for Christian Science, and I see each day more plainly how much I owe to the patient practitioner who so faithfully prepared me for the stand necessary. Since my return, nine months ago, neither my children nor myself have taken one drop of medicine or sought any material aid. Within three months we having regular Sunday and Wednesday services and a regular Sunday School, and had organized our society with ten members. We feel much encouraged, and shall continue to fight the good fight of faith.
