How I Found Christian Science

‘A God of love only’

When I was a child, the thought came to me that “God is a God of love only” and not a God of both love and hate, which was taught by my father’s religion—something I could not accept.

Free to fly

While taking time during the day for prayer and spiritual study, I have found myself reflecting on the many ways in which my thought was prepared for Christian Science.

At age twenty-seven, I was going nowhere fast.

A priceless gift

About four years ago, prior to becoming a student of Christian Science, I began to experience crippling headaches.
In the early 1970s I was living in London and trying to fill a sense of emptiness with food, but the problem had nothing to do with physical hunger.

LOST AND FOUND

I saw that in order to find my life, I had to first lose it—that is, lose all sense of life as material.

I’ve always sought a deeper spiritual purpose in my life.

How I found home

Christian Science came into my life about ten years ago while I was living abroad for a long stretch.
“Let the redeemed of the Lord say so”.
I devoted a great deal of my life’s journey to finding the truth of my being.
When our now-adult sons were in grade school, a fellow mom invited me to a Christian Science lecture.
When I was a kid, I loved being in Sunday School, whatever the denomination.
