Eye on the world: Our true identity can’t be stolen
In an article titled “IRS says thieves stole tax info from 100,000” The Christian Science Monitor notes that “... new computer filters are helping to stop many crude attempts at identity theft. This year, the IRS stopped almost 3 million suspicious returns.” However, a recent breach resulted in criminals accessing “personal tax information from more than 100,000 taxpayers, part of an elaborate scheme to steal identities and claim fraudulent tax refunds.”

Passages from the writings of Mary Baker Eddy:
“The material body and mind are temporal, but the real man is spiritual and eternal. The identity of the real man is not lost, but found through this explanation; for the conscious infinitude of existence and of all identity is thereby discerned and remains unchanged. It is impossible that man should lose aught that is real, when God is all and eternally his” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 302 ).
“Immortal man, in God’s likeness, is safe in divine Science” (Miscellaneous Writings 1883–1896, p. 89 ).
“... they who name the name of Christian Science will assist in the holding of crime in check, will aid the ejection of error, will maintain law and order, and will cheerfully await the end—justice and judgment” (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 222 ).

In “Overcoming identity theft”: “... my true identity as God’s beloved child could not be stolen, marred, diminished, or depleted, no matter what balance I had in my bank account…. We can all feel safe by consistently identifying man as God’s honest child, living in obedience to God’s direction, and expecting merciful lovingkindness and justice to win the day.”
In “Identity can't be robbed”: “Nothing God had given me, could ever be taken away. God created me and all that constituted my identity. Nothing about my God-derived identity could be stolen or misused. Divine Principle governs and guards every facet of my being and nothing could ever invade or violate it.”
