Eye on the world: Encouraging deeper thinking, not superficial knowledge

In a recent editorial titled “Finding knowledge that's unclouded,” The Christian Science Monitor explains that in the face of the superficial learning that has become prevalent, encouraging deeper thinking is a crucial part of fighting extremism: “The present need isn’t to win a grand battle over history or theology; it is to encourage deeper, more empathetic thinking among impressionable young people attracted to toxic ideas.”
