Decisions, decisions

Q: When I’m trying to make a decision, how do I know if it’s God’s voice I’m hearing or just what I want?

A: When I was applying for University, I had no idea what I wanted to study. In England, we have to choose the subject for our degree before we’ve even finished high school. My two favourite subjects were maths and art, so those were the two options I was considering. I spent so much time listing the pros and cons of each—trying to figure out which would be more fulfilling, which I’d be better at, which would help me most in the future. The subjects were so different that it really felt as if I was going to lose out no matter what option I chose.

When I’d heard God speak to me, the message had come with a feeling of peace and love.
