A good meal and a paycheck

I’ve been thinking a lot about the state of the world today, with so many jobs lost each day, home foreclosures continuing, and people living in hunger. Many of us are puzzling over the question “What’s going on?” as we see these grim reports.

But as I pray for myself and the world each day, I can see that many of us are being forced to get back to basics—to the realization that God’s children are consistently sheltered, cared for, and purposefully employed by God, as His image and likeness—even if help comes in unexpected ways. God’s love always provides exactly what we need—every moment.

The Bible recounts tough conditions when Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt, and when Jesus journeyed through Judea. What I love about those stories is learning how needs are met when one has “an absolute faith that all things are possible to God” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures).
