Healed after pickleball lesson

A few years ago, not long after my husband and I were introduced to the sport of pickleball, we took advantage of a couple of free introductory lessons.

During one of them, my momentum stopped abruptly when I jammed my foot into the gym floor. I felt I’d jarred something, but continued playing the game, albeit somewhat gingerly. By the time I arrived home, I could put no weight at all on my foot and ankle.

I was able to hop outside to our back deck for some quiet time to pray and give myself a Christian Science treatment anchored in divine authority. I adamantly declared that, as a spiritual idea of God, I could not be affected by my body’s impact against a gym floor—I could not have fallen out of the protection and harmony of God’s kingdom for even one second. And, as God’s perfect spiritual reflection, I was untouched by injury. I also affirmed that these truths were both adequate and effective in removing any sense of limitation or pain. I continued this line of spiritual reasoning until I felt at peace.
