Two recent additions to the Sentinel’s features are greatly appreciated. One is the occasional side-by-side placement of two pieces from The Christian Science Monitor: an editorial and a “Christian Science Perspective” article on a related topic. In the June 22 Sentinel these are “Why tolerance of religion is not enough” and “Having a heart that embraces all” [Jan Keeler]. I value these reprints because they bring forward the Monitor’s essential mission “to bless all mankind” with these inspiring perspectives, lighting the fire of prayer for myself, my community, my nation, and the world.

The other is the excellent Bible Lens pullout section. This series opens up selected citations from each week’s Bible Lesson by printing other translations of some and giving illuminating explanations of others. The June 22 “Word Study” provides definitions of the words sealed and earnest. The Lens is a valuable Bible study resource.
