No scars

In 2009, a week before Christmas, I was at a friend’s house when we decided to make a sauce for a cake that his mom had made. I suggested we make a caramel sauce. I have a quick and delicious recipe from Brazil. We just needed to boil a can of condensed milk in a pressure cooker for a while and let the can cool down before opening it. I put the can of condensed milk in the refrigerator for it to cool down more quickly.

However, amidst talking and laughter, I took the can to see if it had cooled enough and ended up opening the can too soon, without really thinking much about it. Hot condensed milk went all over my face.

I immediately thought about God and about His care for all His children. I washed my face and went outside to the backyard of my friend’s house. My friend was very scared and offered to drive me to a pharmacy so that I could get some medicine, but I asked him to just take me home.
