From regret to forgiveness

While sitting in a large theater waiting to see a live performance, I looked around at all the other members of the audience. I was feeling spiritually inspired, and I saw them each as spiritual ideas, the perfect reflection of the one Father-Mother God. I felt a great sense of love for everyone there.

But before I could give myself a congratulatory pat on the back for being such a loving person, a startling question came to thought: “Sure, it’s easy to love all these people you don’t know, and see them as God’s children, but can you love everyone you do know?”

While this was a question worth considering, I thought about it only briefly, decided it would be a good idea to try, and then brushed it aside and enjoyed the show.
