Proofs of God’s love in my life

I was introduced to Christian Science a few years ago by a friend who lives in my neighborhood. We would read the weekly Christian Science Bible Lesson together, and I felt a great sense of peace when we talked about the concepts we were studying in Christian Science.

In a calm and humble way, this friend, who is a Christian Science practitioner, helped me understand God better and realize that God is infinite Spirit and unlimited divine Life. I started to see my life not as material and limited, subject to ups and downs, but as emanating from God, and therefore spiritual, eternal, balanced, and harmonious. It also became clear to me that the understanding of Christian Science eliminates the erroneous suggestions in our thought that are manifested as diseases.

One time, a tendon in my foot was inflamed, and I was in severe pain. I asked this practitioner to pray for me, and she agreed. We prayed with some ideas, and these words by Mary Baker Eddy in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures helped me a lot: “Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God’s own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick” (pp. 476–477). After I prayed with the practitioner a few days, the pain disappeared and never recurred.
