Jill Grimes’ article, “No balancing act necessary,” in the August 27 Sentinel [“Balance”] is filled with so many useful ideas. I’ve been sharing and recommending it to lots of friends. I loved the idea of Nehemiah’s ability to not react to the “ground-level conversation.” What a great way to remind ourselves not to pay attention to any ideas but God’s right ideas.

My heart sings with joy and gratitude for our Christian Science periodicals—and at this writing, particularly for the Sentinel. Having each issue focused on a central theme has been so helpful and uplifting. The August 20 Sentinel, “An appointment with the pastor,” spoke to my heart and tied in so nicely with the subject of the week’s Bible Lesson, “Christ Jesus.” Two articles, “Make way for the Christ” by Sue Brightman and “In heaven on earth” by Don Houge, amplified so beautifully what I was feeling as the message from the Bible Lesson. And, of course, the featured weekly article on the Bible Lesson adds so much to our own research on the Bible citations. What a joy and what a gift we have in our periodicals. Thanks to all who write and coordinate and publish each issue so well.
