Seeking the way

(Upon reading the poem ‘Whither?’ by Mary Baker Eddy) *

Why am I so hopeful in darkest hours?
You are with me, here, the governing
Holy Presence.
You know above all human knowing
Our essence, our very being.

My heart cries out.
How You lead me above all yearning
Into peaceful waiting,
Joyous acceptance!
Now is the appointed time;
Now my purpose, meaning, mission
Shine—
A light before me.

My heart turns then to others—
Are they seeking too? In pain . . .
in sorrow?
You are there.
Your allness unfolds, enfolds,
Finds all of unblemished being in
Your embrace.

Now peace comes.
