I shared with my professor

One of my university professors is known for his iron hand in dealing with people and his unwillingness to speak up loudly so that students may hear and understand. It is also hard to get a good grade in his class. When I joined his class at the beginning of the year, I prayed daily. My prayer was to see him as a pure, perfect image of God (see Genesis 1:27), uncontaminated by all the erroneous descriptions that his former students spread all over the campus.

A month after I joined his class this professor was appointed as my school guardian. (A school guardian here is the person that makes sure that you have understood your lectures, that you go to the library for research, that you do your assignments, and that you have all the necessary materials you need and live in a good environment. He is accountable to your school advisor.) All the students came to me and urged me to write to the Dean and ask to be assigned another guardian. With a smile, I told them that I cannot do that. You see, I was daily studying my Christian Science Bible Lesson, praying to see the present manifestation of God’s kingdom. I was holding on to the idea that only goodness, tenderness, patience and love are happening now, and nothing else. Anytime I fell upon an inspiring citation, I would write it down, cherish it, and then share it with this professor during his free time.

I told my professor I am part of a healing family. I am a Christian Scientist.
