Letters

Sentinel writers and editors are devoted students of the Bible, and every issue of the Sentinel reveals new insights into the Scriptures. This is one of the reasons I subscribe and value the Sentinel’s content so highly.

The article titled “Who are you, really?” [“Identity,” April 9] includes a citation from the Revelation of St. John that refers to the “new name” that is written in “a white stone” (2:17). The author, Annette Kreutziger-Herr, affirms that this “new name” refers to our unique spiritual identity, defined and maintained by God, infinite Spirit. I reasoned that this new name (or nature) includes qualities such as moral courage, purity, wholeness, grace, peace, and innocence. Each of these qualities is an indestructible component of man’s spiritual identity.

Thank you for publishing articles that enable us to discover—and rediscover—scriptural texts that transform our lives.
