Grateful to God

One day in the evening, I went to a park with my mother and my younger brother, Tarun. When I was taking swings I lost my grip from the swing and fell down. I was in great pain. My mother helped me to stand up as I was not able to stand straight. My mother prayed with me and talked to me about my true spiritual self that is the image of God. She said I am a son of God and “not made up of brain, blood, bones,” as it says in the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 475). Nothing bad can really happen to a son of God because God always protects His children. And God gives me strength. That’s why
I could have strength.

After reaching home, I called a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me as I had a lot of pain in my back. The practitioner told me that accidents are unreal because God does not know of them. God only knows good. In Science and Health it says that “there is no pain in Truth, and no truth in pain” (p. 113).

After that I was able to have my dinner. And then I sang Hymn 263 from the Christian Science Hymnal with my mother, as guided by the practitioner. The hymn starts, “Only God can bring us gladness, / Only God can give us peace.” After that I went to bed and I slept peacefully. In the morning when I woke up there was a little pain in my back. I reported this to the practitioner, and she told me to keep praying with the same truths we had talked about. And I did. The next morning I was totally free.
