Quick healing of illness

One Sunday night, in December 2009, I realized that I’d had the sniffles and a scratchy throat for a couple of days. I’d been busy and enjoying life so much that I gave these symptoms little credence. However, when my energy level dropped and I began feeling weak, that got my attention right away.

At first I felt so weak that praying for myself didn’t seem possible, and I thought of calling a Christian Science practitioner for metaphysical support. But before I did that, I recognized that all I was thinking about was feeling better physically.

I’ve been a student of Christian Science long enough to know that I’m not interested in trying to make “sick matter” well. What I am interested in is the kind of healing, even for physical ailments, in which adjustments come from spiritual growth, a change in my thinking. Spiritual growth is synonymous with increased spiritual understanding, or a better understanding of God and of my relationship to Him. This necessarily includes everyone else’s relationship to God, as well.
