THE SOURCE OF TRUE REST

Those lines from a well-loved 18th-century children's prayer popped into thought the other night, when my wife said she was having a hard time freeing her mind of the images of squalid refugee camps in Dave Eggers's fictionalized memoir What Is the What, which she was reading at bedtime.
