LETTERS

I was delighted to read and to ponder the Sentinel view, "Creation controversy—taking the questions deeper," in the January 9 issue ["Intelligent design?"]. Nathan Talbot, Laurance Doyle, and the editors have provided an important contribution to humanity's consideration of scientific Christianity. Although many schools of thought still object, the truth is that only a spiritually based theory of creation centered upon an eternal Principle explains all observations.

For many periods since 1962, I have taught senior Sunday School classes in Churches of Christ, Scientist. Most of these students have been able to participate seriously in discussions of the rationale for a wholly spiritual creation. As Mary Baker Eddy wrote years ago, "The time for thinkers has come."
