LETTERS

I want to thank you for printing in the December 19, 2005, Sentinel ["O holy night"] Mary Baker Eddy's article "What Christmas means to me." It was so good to be reminded not to get all caught up in the material observances that actually have nothing to do with the arrival of the Christ on the human scene.

I had also been rereading Mrs. Eddy's Christmas sermon "God's Christmas Gift vs. Man's," printed in the December 1891 Christian Science Journal. She really did put forth to her followers how she felt about Christmas observances. I've been working on that for myself. It's so easy to lose sight of what's important. So thank you!
