Church is a way of saying, 'Yes!'

When I was three years old, I was hit by a car. I then began to have recurring seizures, and was diagnosed as having epilepsy. I was given medication that would alleviate the symptoms, but when I stopped taking the prescriptions, the seizures would return. My mother searched every possible way to heal me permanently.

One day when I was about six or seven, my mother mentioned to her hairstylist that I was sick and that I would have to take medicine for the rest of my life. The hairstylist immediately offered my mom Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. She said that the book had helped her, and that it might help us, too. She also recommended a Christian Science practitioner who could pray with us. My mother went to see the practitioner, and through her prayers, I was completely healed of the seizures very soon.

My parents immediately began attending a Church of Christ, Scientist, and I began attending the Sunday School. When I was around 15, I discovered the lasting effect Sunday School was having on me. What I was learning helped me solve problems with my peers, and deal effectively with many things that were going on at home. I found church to be a great support in life.
