Through the eyes of faith

"My faith has been shaken by this," you say
For you've seen no healing along the way.
Nay, for faith does not change the bad to good,
The ugly to lovely, the "can't" to "could."
No, faith looks through different eyes.

Faith beholds grace where the deformed appears,
Sees childlike gladness, not loss of years.
It doesn't feel lacking, or worldly dearth:
It sees a new heaven and a new earth
Right where the old appears to be.

In deepest darkness, faith knows Christ's light
"For we walk by faith, not by sight."II Cor. 5:7
In faith we behold what has always been there
The fact of our Father's unchanging care.
Life, health, wholeness, forever.
