CHRISTIAN SCIENCE SENTINEL—RADIO EDITION

Being honest means more than being moral

Ann Stewart of Los Altos, California, spoke with the Sentinel's Linda Shaver recently on the subject of honesty.

Linda: Where does honesty come from? Is it inherent in each of us, or is it something we need to be taught?

Ann: Many years ago, Linda, I came across a brief sentence that really caught my attention. It's this: "Honesty is spiritual power" (Science and Health, p.453). The thing that surprised me was classifying honesty as a spiritual quality. I'd always thought of it as being one rung down the ladder, you might say—as strictly a moral quality.
