One Saturday not too long ago, I was out doing errands by myself

One Saturday not too long ago, I was out doing errands by myself. I was walking around a fairly populous area of town during the middle of the day and cut through a park on the way to where I was going next. There were some other people around, but they were pretty far away. As I walked, I saw three young men walking through the park in a way that would eventually cross my path.

All of a sudden I heard a yell: "Come here!" I didn't think it was directed toward me, so I kept walking without looking up. I heard it again and it was coming closer. When I heard it a third time, one of the three young men was standing directly in front of me with his toes touching mine and his face so close that I could smell his breath. He said to me, "Give me your pocketbook and don't make any noise!"

He had his hands in his pockets, and I wasn't sure if he had a gun or a knife. Also, his friends were standing just about fifty yards away, waiting for him. At this point, although the situation appeared perilous, I was completely unafraid.
