What we have in common—spirituality

We can replace prejudice and enmity with "the unity of the Spirit," as the Bible puts it.

Suppose someone says, "It's impossible for mankind to be of one mind about anything." Don't believe it! For example, at this very moment mankind is at least united on a vital element of our economy and sciences—basic mathematics.

This fact points to a greater one, that whether acknowledged or not, mankind has in common right now all Truth. The great need, of course, is to understand what Truth is.

The Bible reveals that God is Truth itself. Divine Truth is always present, absolutely impartial, and ever provable, being the Life and Principle of all real being. Man is the image of God and is therefore full and perfect manifestation of Truth. Such is the grand teaching of the Bible, spiritually understood. Such is the teaching Christ Jesus illustrated in his healing works. Obeying this teaching and striving to follow Jesus' example transform our attitudes, expelling animosity as we see that, in reality, we are all the spiritual children of God, united in Truth.
