Income is within

We can never be separated from the divine source of all that we need.

There you are, about to make a job change for whatever reason, and you've just shared your concerns about income with a friend who calmly replies, "Why, income is within." You might well greet this statement with polite disbelief. I certainly did at a time when I was giving up a regular paycheck for self-employment.

Startling as this concept was to me, I did pay attention to it. For one thing, I was genuinely anxious about future income, and the person offering this encouragement was both spiritually-minded and living proof of the truth of this statement. Infinitely more than human opinion, I knew the concept "income is within" had a rock-solid basis in the Bible—in Christ Jesus' teachings, to be exact.

Jesus said, as Luke's Gospel records: "The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you" (17:20, 21). It took me a while to see what Jesus was really saying here, but I was eventually able to experience the peace of mind and freedom about supply that my friend expressed. What I discovered in making Jesus' words practical in my life may be helpful to you or to someone you know who needs relief from financial fears.
