FROM THE EDITORS

"When I first read the Christian Science textbook, I found I was challenged to think about myself in a new way. Through my prayer and study, I learned and became better aware of my true, spiritual identity. In a wonderful way, this brought me to the conclusion that I really am a child of God! Life was now different—I didn't realize how much I had been yearning for this understanding of spirituality until I heard about it."

This is what a friend told us when describing how a better knowledge of her genuine nature, of what it actually means to be spiritual, changed the way she identifies herself. Physical healing and reformation resulted. Yet, best of all, she relished exploring the truth of who she really is as God's reflection.

What does it actually mean to be spiritual? What does it mean to be God's reflection? "All that God includes is what man mirrors. Through consecrated prayer one can come to discern and understand this truth, and prove it in healing." These words are from the opening article in this week's Sentinel. We think the articles and testimonies in this issue open a window on what man's nature is. We hope that, like the woman describing how Christian Science first touched her life, you will find yourself challenged to take a fresh look at your own identity—and discover that God gives you the answers you need.
