Distinguishing Good from Evil

It is not only one's right but also a divine demand to make a clear and incisive distinction between good and evil; and the Scriptures exhort men to choose good and reject evil if they would experience enduring harmony.

The Bible records that Solomon in a dream asked God for the ability to discern between good and evil and thus be able to render righteous judgment among his people. This request so pleased God that He not only endowed Solomon with great wisdom but also bestowed honor and riches upon him.

There is need today to distinguish correctly between right and wrong, good and evil, truth and error. So widespread is the confusion and misunderstanding on the subject that true justice and the moral and spiritual standards so necessary to an enlightened society are in jeopardy. To make the right distinction, one needs to understand the true nature of God and man.
