Physiology or Spirit?

A young woman who had followed an intensive college course in physiology found herself sometime later on suffering from a troublesome tooth. She remembered a chart showing what might happen, and she wondered what she would do if the condition continued to worsen.

Since she was a student of Christian Science, she turned to it for her answer. She consulted the chapter entitled "Physiology" in Science and Health. Mrs. Eddy begins this chapter (p. 165): "Physiology is one of the apples from 'the tree of knowledge.' Evil declared that eating this fruit would open man's eyes and make him as a god. Instead of so doing, it closed the eyes of mortals to man's God-given dominion over the earth."

This passage brought new light to the woman, and she immediately realized that her trouble was incompatible with man's God given dominion and that human education had blinded her to this spiritual fact.
