Is it any wonder that Christian Scientists think the physical healing the least part of their religion, when through the reading and understanding of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, the Bible is illumined and proves to them that they have indeed a "Key" by which it can be opened? And, just in proportion to our understanding of the truth that Jesus taught, are we freed from the disease and sin in which we once believed. As the belief in sickness, disease, or sin is removed, its effect is removed from the body. I find it difficult to express in words my gratitude to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for having through her understanding of the truth brought to the world at this time such marvelous results.

Six years ago, through witnessing the laying off of glasses on the part of a sister-in-law who was visiting me, and seeing her live daily the life of a Christian Scientist, I began to attend church with her, to find out what this religion was; and when I heard that God is good, and that He is divine Principle, this gave me a different understanding of Him, and showed me how such a God could be omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient, which I had not been able to understand before. I told my husband that I thought it would be wise to send our children to the Christian Science Sunday School. He did not oppose it, and in a very short time began to attend the church services himself, and we have all continued to do so ever since. About five years ago, our last baby was born under Christian Science treatment, and the difference between that and similar experiences under materia medica was wonderful. Since his birth, only once have we had to call for outside help in Science, all the ailments which came to either of us or to the children having been overcome through our understanding of this truth that makes free.

I wish I could enumerate the many wonderful proofs of the power of Truth to reduce all error to the nothingness from which it sprang. One of my old opinions to which I held in a sort of unconscious way, was the doctrine of predestination, and my thought was not wholly cleared up until last winter. In going over one of the Lesson-Sermons, the eighth chapter of Romans brought back the thought, and for a few minutes it seemed to be a stumbling-block; but as I read the context, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God," like a flash of light came the thought, Why, that proves clearly that only good was predestined, and not both good and evil, and that I now believed in the doctrine of predestination in the truest way. I not only believed that good alone is predestined, but I knew it. To me, it is wonderful and beautiful that through spiritual discernment we can prove this truth, and reject all false beliefs.
