God's gentle love...soaked me in orange juice!

I want to share a short experience I had a number of years ago, in gratitude to God, and also to show that God does have a pretty good sense of humor. After I’d been dating a very sweet girl for six months, our relationship came to an end. For some time afterward, I found myself experiencing a lot of regret over what I thought I should or shouldn’t have done, and what I thought she should or shouldn’t have done. And so, I found myself constantly rehashing scenes from the past in my mind, unable to let go.

One day, as I was ruminating over this lost relationship, I thought I should go for a jog to try to clear my thoughts. Well, the jog didn’t seem to make anything better. If anything, it seemed to exacerbate some of the troubled thoughts I was having. In fact, when I got home, I found myself pacing around my kitchen, having an argument with myself.

Because of the jog, I was thirsty. So, I walked over to the refrigerator, intending to pour myself a glass of orange juice. I’m sure many of you know that orange juice cartons have an instruction on them to “shake well” before opening. So, whenever I pick up a carton, I’ve trained myself to reflexively shake it.
