Watching for dolphins

I’ve traveled all over and seen magnificent sites in many countries, and yet my favorite place in all the world is just a few blocks from my home. Whenever I go there, I feel like I’m in heaven.

Recently I visited this special spot and just sat there for a while. Many people who drive by might miss it, thinking it’s just a little park on a river. But on a hot Florida day, the kind of sizzler that often keeps me inside enjoying the air conditioning, I like to sit on a bench under the big shady oaks and palms and feel the cool ocean breeze. I’m in paradise!

I often come here to read and pray, as I did on this particular day, and sometimes I see dolphins swimming. We live very close to both the Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean, and these awesome creatures can frequently be seen frolicking in the water. There’s something so special to me about spotting dolphins; I just love to watch them.
