Negotiating a job offer with integrity and prayer

My husband had for some time been cherishing a desire to work for himself. He had spent many years working for a local authority in England, and now he felt was the time to be a private contractor, using his expertise anywhere there was a need.

I had been supporting his desire in my prayers. I had been thinking about God as the sole employer governing all of His/Her ideas and how each idea of God glorifies God’s nature in purposeful activity. All of God’s ideas are needed and infinitely, eternally useful. No idea of God is ever redundant, retired, unemployed, underemployed, or overemployed, but always satisfied in the work God gives. This employment is an activity going on within divine Mind and can never be overturned or interfered with by the “Adam dream,” that is, the belief of life and intelligence in matter.

Within a month of my husband’s retirement, an agency contacted him regarding a local authority that needed someone with his skills and experience to do a specific, temporary job. The contract would be for three months, possibly six.
