Eye on the world: Uniting together for good

An editorial in The Christian Science Monitor notes that both Nigeria and Iraq are battling jihadist terrorists and points out that “neither band of terrorists has so far faced much on-the-ground pushback by either nation’s military.” One reason is that the battlefield “is not on the ground. It lies in the ability of each country’s people and elected leaders to rise above traditional differences—religious, ethnic, or tribal” (“The real battlefield against jihadist armies”).

Here are some thoughts from the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, who also founded the Monitor:

“It should be thoroughly understood that all men have one Mind, one God and Father, one Life, Truth, and Love. Mankind will become perfect in proportion as this fact becomes apparent, war will cease and the true brotherhood of man will be established” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 467).
