Eye on the world: Thanksgiving

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, saw that gratitude is an active concept, not just a once-a-year event. She writes: “Gratitude is much more than a verbal expression of thanks. Action expresses more gratitude than speech” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 3).

“True gratitude comes of the heart's necessity to magnify God; it blossoms out from our real nature and purpose—to image our Maker. Gratitude bursts forth as we see what it means to have the Mind of Christ—the Mind that is God,” explains the writer of “The link between gratitude and healing” as she explores biblical accounts of healing.
