Eye on the world: Harmony, not religious division
In “Another model of Christian-Muslim harmony?” The Christian Science Monitor’s Editorial Board remarks on a growing competition, of sorts, among a number of countries striving for harmony among Christians and Muslims, including Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Further, the divided island of Cyprus is discussing reunification. The Monitor concludes: “One of the world’s most frozen conflicts is now thawing. And with so much violence in the region, a reconciled Cyprus has the potential to set a new tone. More countries might begin to compete on which one is a model of coexistence.”
